Family Approach The ARBC Student Ministry will offer resources to help the family be as strong and supportive as possible. The Youth Leadership will team with parents and others to strengthen the family as the primary discipler of students. Three times each week we will offer teaching and support that reaches the Head, Heart and Homies of area students. Sunday Morning Bible Study (9:45-10:45am)—Head As a Christian teen in a crazy world, you need all of the armor you can find, and Sunday mornings are here to help our teens learn where to find their strength. Students will participate in large and small group discussions that focus on teaching them what God says about the issues they are dealing with. The first Sunday of each month we enjoy an interactive full breakfast with other groups. The Youth group meets on the third floor of the Sanctuary building. Come learn more about what being a Christian is all about. Sunday Evening Small Groups (6-7:30pm)—Heart Jesus made it clear to his disciples, “If you love me, you will obey my commands.” Sunday night in the youth group is about showing our love for Jesus by serving, ministering, preparing to help lead worship, and learning to be a leader that honors God. The activities will vary, from small group discipleship, preparing a skit to share in worship to raking leaves or handing out water, and the students will learn how to show their love for Christ in their daily life. Wednesday Evening FUSION (6-7:30pm)—Homies “I want to bring my friends to church, but…” Students have lots of reasons why their friends might be uncomfortable in a church environment, but Wednesday nights on the youth floor will hardly be one of them. Games and activities in a relaxed atmosphere make it comfortable for students to be themselves, and the staff of the ministry does their best to welcome students. The messages on Wednesday nights deal with everyday issues students face, and share the hope that is found in having a relationship with Christ. Youth can be found on Wednesday nights at 6:00pm on the third floor of the Sanctuary Building. Special Events Summer is not the only time that students have plenty going on at ARBC. Throughout the year there are Mission projects, outreach activities, concerts, conferences and camps that all give students an opportunity to see God work in big ways and often affect how those students view God’s power and presence when they are adults. Students have opportunities to volunteer with Children’s ministry activities like Music Camp and Vacation Bible School, to attend summer camp, and to participate in different events that may be city-wide or specific to ARBC through the year. |
