Opportunities to Help

We have ongoing opportunities to help others. If you would like to volunteer to help with our relief projects, please contact Tucker Furtick.

If you would like to contribute to our Disaster Relief Fund, you may do so at any time. Please make checks payable to ARBC and denote them for Disaster Relief.

Seventh Disaster Relief Trip - Metairie:

We made our seventh Metairie Disaster Relief trip from March 31-April 4.

Disaster Relief Training

Three Ashley River members went to Rock Springs, SC for Disaster Relief Training from March 2-3.

Sixth Disaster Relief Trip - Metairie:

We made our sixth trip to Metairie from November 1-5. The ten people who went on this trip helped two families begin to repair their homes and lives by helping them with tear out work.

Fall Disaster Relief Training

Ten Ashley River members went to White Oak from October 12-14 to participate in South Carolina Disaster Relief Training. We learned a lot and are excited to continue helping others.

Great Turnout for Disaster Relief Training at Ashley River

About 100 people from 12 different churches were at Ashley River on Saturday, August 26 for Disaster Relief training.

Fifth Disaster Relief Trip - Mission Metairie:

A group of 37 adults and youth were in Metairie from July 15-22. We did tear-out work as well as put on a sports camp for local children.

Fourth Disaster Relief Trip - Metairie:

A group of men and women from our church were back in Metairie from April 8-13. Tom Funke, John Gaertner, Susan Kitting, Steven Lankford, Margo Newport, Gary Piper, Garret Riggins and Wayne Stocks worked on a total of three houses doing tear-out and carry-out work. It was a great experience to help others in need and to develop new relationships with fellow Christians (from ARBC and in Louisiana).

Third Disaster Relief Trip - Metairie:

Nine of our men and women (Wally Burbage, Jimmie Creach, Bethel Dyches, Harry Dunston, Tucker Furtick, Kevin Sevier, Frank Shealey, Cindi Vinson, Charles Weeks) were back in Metairie from January 28-February 4. Our group of volunteers also included members from six other churches. They spent seven days doing tear-out work and helping in any way possible the people living in the area surrounding Metairie Baptist. They worked on seven houses over the course of their seven day trip.

Second Disaster Relief Trip - Metairie:

Four or our men (Wally Burbage, David England, Tucker Furtick and Frank Shealey) went back to Metairie over the weekend of November 5 to do tear-down work. They helped a couple of families remove sheetrock and flooring that was ruined by the rising waters of Hurricane Katrina.

We have adopted a church impacted by Hurricane Katrina.

We are partnering with Metairie Baptist Church to reach out to their community during this time of crisis.
