Franklin Graham Lowcountry Festival It has begun! As a supporting church of the Franklin Graham Lowcountry Festival (FGLF), the initial training sessions are now scheduled. Please take a look at the list and choose a time and location to attend.
Palmetto Hikers Next Hike to Be Announced Soon If you would like to join us on any of our hikes, please call Jerry Mallard. Future hikes will include Edisto Island State Park and Bull’s Island (this hike will include a boat trip from Cape Romaine).
Parent-Child Dedication May 11, 2008 If you are a member of ARBC, we would love to have you participate in our upcoming Parent-Child Dedication. To do so, please provide the following information to the church office no later than Thursday, May 1.
Please remember that this observance is not a baptism, but simply a time for parents to symbolically “present” their children to the Lord and publicly dedicate themselves to the rearing of their children pursuant to the teaching and admonition of our Lord, Jesus Christ. All participants should be assembled in the foyer between the Sanctuary and Fellowship Hall no later than 10:45 on Sunday, May 11.
Adult Prayer Retreat Thursday, May 15, 2008 at Bonnie Doone Bonnie Doone is a perfect setting for prayer, and if you’ve never had the opportunity to visit, we really encourage you to take advantage of this chance! Because the retreat begins at 9:15am, we will be leaving the church parking lot at 8:00am that morning. Bring your preschooler along for a Missions Friends program designed just for them! The program includes refreshments and lunch. The cost of the trip is $8. Please contact Jodell Johnson and get her the money to reserve your spot by Sunday, May 11, and please let her know if you are planning to bring your preschooler.
Baccalaureate Service May 18, 2008 Our Baccalaureate Service is planned for May 18, 2008 in both the Rising and Celebration Worship Services. If you are graduating this spring and would like to attend, please call the church office by May 12 to be added to the time of recognition on both services. Following the Celebration service there will be a luncheon in your honor in the Fellowship Hall. Please RSVP with Veronica in the church office (766-5521) by May 12 and be sure and give us your name, name of school you are graduating from, and the number of immediate family who will be attending the luncheon with you.
Women's Summer Bible Study Drop In begins June 5
June 23-27, 2008 Start planning now for your child to attend Ashley River's Music Camp this summer.
Ride the Waves to Outrigger Island July 14-18, 2008 from 9:00am to 12:00noon You can help with Vacation Bible School this year. Please call Becky Smith for details.
Camp Bonnie Doone July 20-25, 2008 Kids, ages 8-12, come join your friends for 5 days of fun: bonfires, canoes, crafts, dramas, outdoor skills, swimming, friendly competition, Bible Study, and great food! The class will be held on second floor over Child Development Center in Room B201. The teacher will be Dennis Odom. Open to both single and married adults, all ages! Come join us!

Dress for Success Charleston County Human Services Department runs a program called “Dress for Success”. They help women prepare in many ways for interviews and employment, including helping them choose clothing for an interview and you can help. Starting Sunday, May 4 through Sunday, May 18, there will be a dress rack in the Fellowship Hall foyer off the patio. Please bring a gently used suit or dress appropriate for a job interview. It must be clean, pressed, and on a hanger. Feel free to bring accessories for the outfit and place them in a small bag that is also on the hanger. If we receive an abundance of clothing, we will be able to donate some of the items to H.E.L.P. of Charleston. We have this opportunity to reach out into our community and make a difference in the lives of women.

Would You Like to Be a Patio Musician? Needed: musicians to perform on the patio/porch between the CDC building and the Fellowship Hall before and after Sunday School. Those interested please contact H.S. Yarborough (766-5521 in the church office). Yes, you can!
Help with The Rising Singers and guitarists, if you have a heart for worship ministry, please contact Jason Brewer if you are interested in joining the Rising Community Choir or playing acoustic guitar in the Rising band. You may e-mail Jason for more information. Auditions will be held in the Activities Building on Tuesday, April 1, 2008 at 6:00pm. Come and share the gifts that God has given you! Coffee: We need someone to make coffee for the Rising Service. You can sign up in the Activities Building for a monthly rotation. This is a great way to serve our church family.

That way, you can know what is going on around the church. We will also send you special ministry promotions and e-mails from Pastor Dave. We promise: • not to junk up your e-mail box with SPAM. • not to give your e-mail address out to ANYONE (including individual ministries) without your permission. • to send you e-mail that will be uplifting. • to remove your e-mail from the list if you request it.

Wednesday Night Supper We have added a new option to our regular supper menu. In addition to a regular adult or child plate, you may now choose a salad at the same price of an adult plate. A reservation for a salad is required so call before Tuesday at noon to get yours. If you already have reservations for Wednesday night and would prefer a salad, please call the church office to change your reservation. The church telephone number is 766-5521.
All Ministry Leaders As you are planning your events, please check the extended calendar to make sure that your activity doesn’t conflict with one that is already scheduled. Then, submit your activity information to the office for approval by the ministry staff so that it can be added to the calendar and we can help you advertise. If your ministry is planning a new meeting or class, even during regularly scheduled programming, and you need nursery provided for children ages birth to 3 years old, please contact Veronica in the church office or stop by and fill out a Nursery Request Form at least one week in advance so that we have plenty of nursery staff on hand to take care of your precious little ones!
