Ashley River Baptist Church was organized in April, 1943. The members of Citadel Square Baptist Church called Rev. John L. White to help establish a mission church with the help of the members who lived west of the Ashley River. God has so richly blessed us in every way, and because of this, we continue to “reach out and touch” as many persons as possible. We want to be used by God to introduce others to Christ and to help believers develop an enriched relationship with Christ.
Charleston is a city of bridges. Bridges allow us to cross over barriers to go where we want to go. I like to think of Ashley River Baptist Church as a living bridge. People face many barriers in their search for a joyful and meaningful life. I believe that God has placed our church in the West Ashley community to help people cross over to abundant life through a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ. We invite you to journey with us as we worship, learn, share, and serve. As you do, you will not only cross the bridge to abundant life, you will become a bridge to a better life for your family and our community. Let this information introduce you to the people and ministries of Ashley River Baptist Church. If you would like to arrange a visit with a member of our church staff, let us know by sending us an email. God wants every person to cross the bridge to an abundant life in Christ. I hope that we can make that wonderful journey together.
